People are attracted to this language across the globe due to its solid linguistic traditions, so Department of Urdu is to connect the society with the linguistic traditions and exemplary works of its renowned scholars and new critical theories of modern literature. Department of Urdu aspires to spread awareness about the literary and cultural importance and relevance of Urdu culture, language, and literature in Pakistan. Various degree programs BS Urdu program, MS Urdu—aim to enable students to draw on a wide range of intellectual resources, theoretical perspectives, and academic disciplines. The main focus of the Urdu department is to prepare the students in the field of Urdu as teachers, educators, educational leaders, and researchers. Innovative methods and techniques of teaching and learning in education add to the strength of the department.
The Department of Languages at University of Sialkot has been established to develop Urdu language and literature keeping in view the new global realities and to make it grow as an international language of sciences, technology, politics and culture.
