The Department of Law successfully hosted the inaugural "1st Barrister Muhammad Ali Jinnah National Moot Competition" under the supervision of Ms. Faiza Choudhry, Head Department of Law. This prestigious event brought together eight teams from various universities and law colleges.
The preliminary round, held on May 27, featured guest judge Advocate Lubana, a member of the Women's Chamber of Commerce and members of the Law Department as adjudicators.One from University of the Punjab and two from Sialkot College of Law, advanced to the semi-finals.
The semi-final and final rounds, held on May 29, were judged by distinguished legal professionals. The semi-finals included prominent legal experts, while the final round featured an esteemed panel of judges including Zain Ali Qureshi(Advocate of the High Court and Cyber Crime Law expert), Ch. Usman Mushtaq (Advocate of the High Court and former Secretary of the Bar) ,Ch. Raza Subhani (Advocate) ,Ch. Muneeb Hussain Warraich.(former Secretary of the Bar) and Dr. Muhammad Ashfaq. The final showdown saw a fierce competition between the teams from Sialkot College of Law and University of the Punjab Jhelum Campus (PUJC). Ultimately, the PUJC team triumphed, demonstrating exceptional legal prowess and teamwork, and earning the championship title in this notable competition.
