The University of Sialkot proudly welcomed the Former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Anwaar Ul Haq Kakar. He was received by the Honorable Chairman Board of Governors, Mr. Faisal Manzoor and the worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Khaleeq Ur Rahman and had a meeting, where he was briefed about the various opportunities students were availing, including modern labs, highly qualified staff and collaborations with international universities. After that in the auditorium, the worthy vice chancellor gave the welcome address and thanked the former prime minister for taking the time to visit USKT. The worthy vice chancellor talked about the international collaborations and linkage opportunities that students were availing and shared how USKT faculty and staff members are committed to the future of its students. He emphasized the university's vision for developing international connectivity and academic excellence. He highlighted that USKT has international linkages with over 150 universities worldwide, ensuring that students are not only exposed to an international level but are also equipped with skills that meet international standards.He also elaborated on the university's commitment to innovation and research, mentioning ongoing faculty development programs and initiatives to enhance teaching methodologies.The Honorable Chairman mentioned the history of University of Sialkot and how it is helping the students to meet the international challenges. He also mentioned the significance of such interactions in academia, highlighting universities as engines of economic change and hubs for producing skill graduates. He shared the commitment of USKT to groom its students into becoming the leaders of tomorrow. The guest speaker, Mr. Anwaar Ul Haq Kakar in his talk reflected on the two-nation theory and the contributions of Allama Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam in shaping Pakistan's history. He emphasized the importance of understanding the nation’s rich heritage, urging students to draw inspiration from the vision and sacrifices of these great leaders. Drawing on themes of self-awareness, balance in life and the infinite universe, he encouraged the audience to embrace the power of knowledge creation. His reflections on personal growth, divine intervention and the journey of life, inspired students and faculty to dream big. He also emphasized the importance of value addition to resources and the importance of the local government system in Pakistan. The event concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, where students and faculty directly interact with the Former Prime Minister. Questions were raised, ranging from self-development and leadership to Pakistan’s future. The guest speaker shared his responses, inspiring everyone to think and act with purpose. The talk concluded with the Honorable Chairman, presenting a shield to the guest speaker, for his valuable time and more such exchanges in the future.
