MoU Signed Between USKT & Punjab Bar Council
The Faculty of Law of the University of Sialkot, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Punjab Bar Council.
The delegation of Faculty of Law from USKT included the worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Khaleeq Ur Rahman, Director Dr. Asif Khan and Lecturer Mr. Gohar Masood Qureshi. The Representatives from the Punjab Bar Council included Mr. Irfan Sadiq Tarar, Vice Chairman, Punjab Bar Council, Mr. Mohammad Ahmed Qayyum, Chairman, Legal Education Committee, Mr. Rafaqat Ali Sohal, Secretary, Punjab Bar Council, Mr. Shamshad Ahmed Bajwa, Member, Punjab Bar Council & Member Judicial Commission of Pakistan and Mr. Asim Iqbal Advocate High Court.
The worthy Vice Chancellor signed the MoU in the presence of the Punjab Bar Council delegation and in his talk emphasized the importance of aligning legal education with the latest policies of Higher Education Commission, Islamabad. He also reaffirmed the university’s commitment to producing skilled, responsible and community-oriented legal professionals and discussed the important role of legal education in promoting justice, equity and awareness in society. This collaboration marks a new era of opportunities in legal education, professional growth and community service.
The agreement includes 25% semester fee discount for LLB students at USKT who are sons and daughters of lawyers enrolled with the Punjab Bar Council. It also paves the way for the establishment of a Law Clinic at USKT to provide legal awareness and services to the community.
Internships for final semester law students, academic exchange programs, joint seminars, law moots and legal workshops are also part of it.
