I currently serve as the Head of the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Sialkot (USKT), overseeing academic programs, faculty development, and research initiatives. Our department offers three-degree programs: ADP Biology, BS Biological Sciences, and MS Biological Sciences. I earned my PhD in Biotechnology from the International Islamic University Islamabad and an M.Phil. in Biotechnology from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. My research focuses on the design and prototype development of biosensors for environmental and biomedical applications. During my research tenure at the University of Illinois, USA, I developed a nanomaterial-mediated biosensor prototype for neurotoxin detection. I have published 12 research papers in peer-reviewed journals, contributed to a book chapter, and remain actively engaged in research, with a couple of papers under revision and multiple ongoing projects. Additionally, I have successfully supervised 12 MS students, with 9 more currently under my mentorship. As department head, I am committed to fostering a research-driven academic environment, enhancing curriculum development, and promoting interdisciplinary collaborations to advance scientific innovation.
