The Department of Zoology, a discipline of natural sciences, meets the needs of training persons in a vast basic and interdisciplinary framework concerning Animal Sciences. The Department has earned recognition for academic excellence and prominence in various fields of research like Cell and Molecular Biology, Physiology, Developmental Biology, Entomology, Parasitology and Fisheries, etc. A Zoology graduate after B.S. (Hons.) has a diverse experience and competence to serve or learn further in education, health, agriculture, industry and environment sectors. The fully equipped laboratories, well-furnished class rooms, seminar rooms and update spacious Mir Hassan library provide the best possible facilities to the students in their academic pursuits. All the faculty members are striving hard and exercising their potentialities to the maximum extent focusing the activity based learning.
They also have an opportunity to apply theoretical foundation in a real-world setting.
PEO-1: BS Zoology (PEO's): Graduates will apply critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and biological knowledge to investigate zoological problems and conduct independent or collaborative research.
PEO-2: BS Zoology (PEO's): Students will demonstrate competence in laboratory, field, and analytical techniques to design, implement, and evaluate biological research projects.
PEO-3: BS Zoology (PEO's): Graduates will effectively analyze, quantify, and interpret biological data to generate valid conclusions and support evidence-based decision making.
PEO-4: BS Zoology (PEO's): Students will communicate scientific information clearly and effectively to both scientific and non-scientific audiences through reports, presentations, seminars, and publications.
PEO-5: BS Zoology (PEO's): Graduates will contribute positively to national development, biodiversity conservation, education, and the biological sciences sector through ethical research, innovation, and professional practice.
PLO-1: BS Zoology (PLO's): Think critically in terms of their learning and research.
PLO-2: BS Zoology (PLO's): Evaluate critically the published literature.
PLO-3: BS Zoology (PLO's): Assess and implement the practical techniques necessary to solve a particular biological problem.
PLO-4: BS Zoology (PLO's): Analyze and quantify data collected during a research project. Communicate with expert and non-expert audiences through poster displays, seminar, presentations, project reports and essays.
PLO-5: BS Zoology (PLO's): The students shall have potential to contribute in national economy and development through their research projects.

Zoology is the branch of biology that relates to the animal kingdom including the structure, embryology, evolution, classification, habits, habitats, and distribution of all animals, both living and extinct and therefore it is also known as animal biology. There are several sub-branches within this field, including ethology, zoography, and anthrozoology. More so, zoologists often major in the study of particular types of animals. For example, an ornithologist studies birds, whereas a mammologist studies mammal. Many career options are open for students in Zoology due to the need of preservation and management of the wildlife in the world. Sometimes, a career in Zoology requires travelling too. Few prestigious news channels like National Geographic, Discovery Channel and Animal Planet offer jobs for documentary shoots and others. Few places where a Zoologist can be hired are wildlife sanctuaries or national parks, botanical gardens, national zoological parks, laboratories, animal clinics, fisheries departments, fish hatcheries etc .On the clinical side, our graduates are indulged in Diagnostic and Fertility Laboratories. Likewise, zoologists have also possibilities in NGOs active in the environmental and conservation issues like WWF, IUCN, Zoological Survey of Pakistan, and Natural History Museum.
The best yardstick for our progress is not other people, but Ourselves
