Faculty of Sciences was established in Oct, 2013 and undergraduate programs of BS Biotechnology, Biochemistry and Zoology are successfully running with more 800 students and 2 batches were passed out. This program comprises of a modern curriculum including Molecular & Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Signaling, Genetics and Genomics, Advanced Methods in Biology and Computational Biology and Biostatistics. In addition to these courses, there is a list of elective courses for the both streams. This program will help to enhance agriculture and livestock productivity and to provide means in controlling various diseases related to plant, animal and human. This will consequently lead to uplift of community of whole Pakistan but specially Sialkot division. Faculty of Science will focus on the problem-oriented research related to industries and public service.
They also have an opportunity to apply theoretical foundation in a real-world setting.
PEO-1: MS Biological Sciences (PEO's): To demonstrate progressive knowledge and understanding of the field of Biological Sciences.
PEO-2: MS Biological Sciences (PEO's): To empower the students to acquire scientific and analytical awareness of various domains of Biological Sciences.
PEO-3: MS Biological Sciences (PEO's): To prepare the students in such a way that they can excel in the field of research and revolution by providing them with facilities to conduct research as well as with collaboration with other researchers.
PEO-4: MS Biological Sciences (PEO's): To provide knowledgeable and skilled manpower for the industrial sector.
PEO-5: MS Biological Sciences (PEO's): To train students in reviewing and synthesizing scientific literature, and effectively interpreting research findings and provide hands-on experience with various laboratory techniques and technologies commonly used in biological research.
PEO-6: MS Biological Sciences (PEO's): To instill a strong sense of ethical responsibility and integrity in conducting scientific research and promote collaboration among students, faculty, and potentially with external partners, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of biological sciences .
PLO-1: MS Biological Sciences (PLO's): Demonstrate a deep understanding of advanced concepts in biological sciences, including molecular biology, genetics, ecology, evolution, microbiology, biotechnology, and physiology.
PLO-2: MS Biological Sciences (PLO's): Understand and apply various research methodologies, including experimental design, data collection, and statistical analysis; critically analyze scientific literature, identify gaps in current knowledge, and formulate research questions or hypotheses.
PLO-3: MS Biological Sciences (PLO's): Proficiency in a range of laboratory techniques commonly used in biological research, such as PCR, microscopy, bioinformatics, and field sampling methods, and utilize computational tools and software for data analysis, modeling, and visualization.
PLO-4: MS Biological Sciences (PLO's): Apply appropriate data analysis and/or modeling techniques to analyze, interpret, and draw inferences from data that characterize biological and/or molecular systems.
PLO-5: MS Biological Sciences (PLO's): Understand and adhere to ethical guidelines in biological research, including issues related to human, plant, and animal research, data integrity, and environmental stewardship, and develop the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and contribute to collective research efforts.
PLO-6: MS Biological Sciences (PLO's): Create a framework for gathering, storing, sharing, preparing, and analyzing data and communicating results to the scientific community.
The minimum credit hours to complete this program are 30 hours, while the maximum are 36 hours.
The minimum Duration to complete this program are 2 years, while the maximum are 3 years.
MS Bioscience at university of Sialkot is designed to meet the need of market and academician in Biology, which will enable to student to serve in various organizations including hospitals, universities, agriculture sector, food industries, education, forensic, crime research, drug discovery and many more like public health entities, blood service, industrial laboratories, research institutes, environmental protection agencies, fisheries, public health laboratories and cosmetic industries.
