The Department of English is offering ADP-English program in the semester Spring-2020. ADP English program aims to provide students with a broad base of learning and scholarship to suit their respective interests and aptitudes. The program, which has duration of two years and four semesters, also intends to help the students in determining their future professional directions. The curricula for the degree program are designed to prepare manpower needed for the economic development of the country. For the first year, the students are taught elective courses of both linguistics and literature. However, ADP English program introduces certain new courses both in linguistics and literature to acquaint the students with the modern trends, research and scholarship around the world.
They also have an opportunity to apply theoretical foundation in a real-world setting.
PEO-1: ADP English (PEO's): Enable our students to communicate effectively and proficiently in English through all essential of skills.
PEO-2: ADP English (PEO's): Foster the appreciation for valid literary genres, eras and cultures and cultivating critical analyses and interpretation of literacy texts.
PEO-3: ADP English (PEO's): Enable students with deeper understanding of theories in linguistics and literature, and analytical framework to apply on language and literature for plausible interpretation.
PEO-4: ADP English (PEO's): Promote and facilitate the holistic department of our students by providing opportunities for their personal, academic and professional development within the program.
PEO-5: ADP English (PEO's): Cultivate an awareness of issues of the globe with the diverse perspectives of critical thinking.
PEO-6: ADP English (PEO's): Empower the students to contribute to their local and global communities by developing deeper understanding of equality, equity, inclusivity in diversity .
PLO-1: ADP English (PLO's): Demonstrate proficiency in English language skills listening, reading, writing and speaking particularly in academic and professional contexts.
PLO-2: ADP English (PLO's): Engage and present their linguistic and literary critiques on adverse academic forums .
PLO-3: ADP English (PLO's): Analyse and interpret texts from diverse cultural and historical contexts by applying the relevant theories of linguistics and literature.
PLO-4: ADP English (PLO's): Apply linguistics theories and concepts to analyse language structure, usage, and variation demonstrating an understanding of the dynamic nature of language.
PLO-5: ADP English (PLO's): Synthesize knowledge of diverse disciplines and skill acquired through critical inquiry, demonstrating awareness of equity, equality and inclusivity in diversity through their personal and professional roles.
The minimum credit hours to complete this program are 64 hours, while the maximum are 67 hours.
The minimum Duration to complete this program are 2 years, while the maximum are 3 years.
