Department of Islamic Studies aims to offer high-quality education focusing on research excellence, development of ethical norms, prepare students to meet challenges of the modern era, and foster demand-driven education for all. The department was established in March 2018 when the university laid the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences setup. It offers BS program and MS program in Islamic Studies. All courses related to Islam must be studied from their primary sources and original language to get firsthand knowledge of his/her area of study. Presently, the department offers specializations in Tafseer and Qur'anic Sciences, Hadith Sciences, Aqeedah and Philosophy, Seerah and Islamic History, Comparative Religion, Da'wah, Islamic Culture and Islamic Jurisprudence.
Vision
To develop the department as a learning center in the region which may prove its
existence as a hub of knowledge; to provide an intellectual horizon of Islamic
sciences; to comply with the constitutional provisions of the Islamic Republic of
Pakistan which demand the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the
prophet, to be part of the life of Muslims of the country; and to achieve the historical,
social, intellectual and ideological objectives of the partition of united India and the
creation of a new Islamic state.
Mission
To launch formal and informal programs under the umbrella of Islamic Sciences
which may accomplish the needs and aspirations of the people of the region; to prove
the department and its programs as a robe of honor for the students and stakeholders;
to provide opportunities to its students leading them towards the creativity which
eventually handles the solid and balanced solutions of the day-to-day life of human
being; to establish academic standards of the students on a sound intellectual and
firm foundation, and to provide the students with the forum at which they may re-
define and re-visit classical academic heritage of Islamic Sciences independently.
